The Dimensional Satchel
More than a few of you have been asking about houses in the game: whether they can be built, bought etc. So I think it’s time to talk about our plans in a little more detail.
Wakfu is set at a time when the wounds inflicted on the world by the great cataclysm are only beginning to heal, when most settlements have been destroyed. Inhabitants of the world have grown accustomed to a nomadic way of life which takes them from island to island according to season, quest or desire. They see nothing unusual in sleeping under the stars, and but for showers of rain and herds of hungry beasts, they might well have no use for shelter at all.
This is where the magic of the immobile journey comes in, whose mysteries have only recently been uncovered. I’m talking about, the “dimensional satchel”, which look perfectly normal, but whose capacity equals that of a whole house! Our best guess as to the nature of these living holdalls is that they remain balanced between two worlds, two dimensions… but in truth, we can’t be sure. It’s just one more mystery to be solved sometime in this brand new era when nothing seems quite right.
Whatever the case, it’s a bonus - no more curling up in a ball and rolling into your little canvas pea pod… you can invite your friends round and get some new chairs to put them on, make some weapons or even open a small shop to sell your items…
In order to do all this, you’ll have to find crystals with magical energy which will change the interior of your satchel. Your little bag might be greedy by nature (keep an eye on your shoes!) but it will only manage to gulp down a few crystals, so you’ll have to plan your interior design carefully. How about an oven in the corner for those long trips in the wilderness? Or a store to sell off the booty you thieve from your victims? Or the ever popular secret passage for a whispered meeting with your chums?
It’s up to you, your imagination and your career to guide the form of your satchel. All the same, it’s never good to give it a stomach ache ;)
So as you see, there’ll be no houses as such but rather a system that we hope you’ll find more versatile, fun and original.
