I certainly hope that the people you choose are honest and helpful with dealing with the problems you encounter while working on the closed beta... and I hope I'm one of them *COUGH*.

I'd be really surprised if they hand-pick the full 10,000
... are there even 10,000 active people in the whole community?

I would imagine it would go by forum participation.

Good analysis GITC-IGC. I was thinking exactly that when it came to the number of people being chosen for the test. After all 100 people is but a drop in the bucket and even though the servers should be well prepared for 10,000, it will still be a better idea. The down-side will be people repeatedly moaning about the same bugs (if there are any) but whether that is a good thing or a bad thing, I am ill-equipped to say. Anyhow, I am unsure as to whether or not this is solely for the English servers or for all servers (as I am not inclined to checking the French forums and the answer will not really affect me in the least) but at the very least, you devs will have your work cut out for you. Hope you guys are prepared for busssy days preceding the convention. Aren't you going to be just so glad when this is all done with? Well just get the coffee ready and here's one fellow who is hoping that whatever comes of this, let's hope that it becomes as big (if not bigger) than Dofus (and DA).

Frankly, I'd be surprised if you get hand-selected based on the fact you don't even know that the French and English and the German and the Spanish version is EXACTLY THE SAME SOFTWARE. Changing language is through the language settings in the client, everyone is playing on the same server irrelevant of their home language (you're probably playing with the half-translated English setting).

I wouldn't be surprised if you get picked at random though.

It doesn't sound good when you hear a game had more than 2 closed betas separately after the open beta?

If they are picked at random, i wonder how many of the 10,000 will still be active players. Im sure theyve thought about that though.
By the way, anyone heard anything yet? Ive yet to be selected for a closed beta and im not expecting to, fingers crossed though.

lol well "soon" does leave a bit to the imagination doesn't it. In the end, I think that enough of that randomly picked 10,000 will be active players (well, enough to test the game and servers anyway). Now whether or not this number includes just English or spans all the different language-based player-base, I think that this volume will do its job and the moment the Beta opens up, it will be a free for all and here's hoping that things go smoothly (although I'm sure they know what to expect, with at least some - if not most - of them having dealt with all of this during the Beta and opening of Dofus.

Woot! cant wait for wakfu. I can finally move from dofus were im starting to run out of things to do. When you drop a turqoise dofus, and it doesnt excite you anymore its time to move on.

I was extremely lucky to get in the first beta, so I'm not hoping for anything this time. Just hope that it is still gonna be short like they planned, and not extend it because of the two zeroes

Man all of you modest people...ssoouul, you're another one that has been very active in this forum so chances are good for you too. Needless to say though, I agree with the latter part of your statement, in that I also hope that the beta won't be extended due to the increased volume. However, I think the plan is to make it all purrty before the conference, I'm guessing that the option of extending it might not even be "on the table". Then again, they ARE the ones that make the rules so we shall see.

Just in case none of you really had the news from the french side, I wanted to let you know that we have been told that the choice for the 10,000 was already made last week and was based (not 100% sure i remember correctly ehre, so don't go flaming people for it! ) mainly on people still playing wakfu... That is with the exception of the 100 or so who were already selected on the first round!

If you need more info feel free to drop me a MP since i'm mostly on the french side of the forum!

That seems a bit flawed to me (even if it's correct). A lot of the people not playing are the people whose computer cannot play due to bugs. I know I certainly haven't been playing much since I'm affected by the Intel graphics bug that makes gaps in the landscape. So, considering play-time (or lack of) would directly remove those rather large bugs (obviously game-stopping for some) from the testing.

Of course, if they're aware and know how to fix those bugs then it becomes less important.

i just find a way to avoid them if possible...

Well I hope that the "playing the game" statement includes people frequenting the forums, as I reached the pinnacle of my character (insofar as I wanted to take it) after which there really wasn't a "point" (a word that I know is odd in an MMO but hey) and I got bored having to deal with the bugs. I do care whether or not I get into the beta but not to such a degree that this selection process will make me irate in the least.

Basically, if you have been choosen, you should received an e-mail (and I do mean an e-mail, not a MP here) before june 11th in the morning,,, that is at their current time.

I think it was also mentioned (or maybe not... i feel lazy) thet the closed should last about 2 weeks (or was it a month O_o) so that the open could be fixed as much as possible to get the patch in the open beta for july! that is, if no major problem occurs i'd say...

I didn't know about the "morning" specificity of June 11 though. You're either REALLY well-informed, a psychic or a witch. Personally, I hope the last one 'cause I would most definitely love to know a witch (but I guess a psychic is OK too) .

Also, understand that THEIR morning is kindda what.... 2 in the morning for me so... be careful of your time zone!
