When a hundred is not enough…
by Zidrune - Friday May 29, 2009 40 commentariesI can already picture your face at the sight of this avatar… Talentyre is not posting today. What you must know is that Talentyre is extremely professional, and for his first DevBlog, he wants it to be perfect from every angle. So, while we wait for him to finish his 293rd check, here is a little surprise for you!
On second thought, we must admit that you were right: one hundred beta-testers won’t be enough! So we’ve gone wild and decided to add up two zeros to that number!
YES… YOU HAVE A GOOD VISION! We’re inviting 10,000 players to participate in the closed beta. We’ll certainly need all of you to test our brand new Wakfu and its new features.
It will also be a good opportunity for us to see the impact of a great number of players on the ecosystem and, incidentally, check that our servers will keep up the charge!
So keep an eye on your emails, your invitation could be arriving soon! The great migration to the Amakna archipelago will start on June 11!

... are there even 10,000 active people in the whole community?
Good luck Goldfish XD
P.S. GITC-IGC...PEEPS? Wowza lol. Aww, it's still cool
Then, all the bugs to the bucket!
*Tho, I'm kinda new to the community ~
I tried to play the current version (French) for the past
hour or so.....got my ch a few levels.
It's a little hard to understand.... so I'd love to participate
and try out the English beta.
Also:
Since I downloaded the French client, will I have to
uninstall it to play the English beta *(if selected)?

Frankly, I'd be surprised if you get hand-selected based on the fact you don't even know that the French and English and the German and the Spanish version is EXACTLY THE SAME SOFTWARE. Changing language is through the language settings in the client, everyone is playing on the same server irrelevant of their home language (you're probably playing with the half-translated English setting).
I wouldn't be surprised if you get picked at random though.

lol ~ Ya learn something new every day.....
*Looking forward to work'n with ya! :3
It doesn't sound good when you hear a game had more than 2 closed betas separately after the open beta?
By the way, anyone heard anything yet? Ive yet to be selected for a closed beta and im not expecting to, fingers crossed though.
Just in case none of you really had the news from the french side, I wanted to let you know that we have been told that the choice for the 10,000 was already made last week and was based (not 100% sure i remember correctly ehre, so don't go flaming people for it!
If you need more info feel free to drop me a MP since i'm mostly on the french side of the forum!
That seems a bit flawed to me (even if it's correct). A lot of the people not playing are the people whose computer cannot play due to bugs. I know I certainly haven't been playing much since I'm affected by the Intel graphics bug that makes gaps in the landscape. So, considering play-time (or lack of) would directly remove those rather large bugs (obviously game-stopping for some) from the testing.
Of course, if they're aware and know how to fix those bugs then it becomes less important.
i just find a way to avoid them if possible...
i too don't care about getting in closed beta..... i can always play open 1 ...
I think it was also mentioned (or maybe not... i feel lazy) thet the closed should last about 2 weeks (or was it a month O_o) so that the open could be fixed as much as possible to get the patch in the open beta for july! that is, if no major problem occurs i'd say...
I didn't know about the "morning" specificity of June 11 though. You're either REALLY well-informed, a psychic or a witch. Personally, I hope the last one 'cause I would most definitely love to know a witch (but I guess a psychic is OK too)
Also, understand that THEIR morning is kindda what.... 2 in the morning for me so... be careful of your time zone!
As for the well informed... That is what happend when you speak french and english... you can chekc out the dark side of the force! lol
By the way... someone didn,t know about the reset of the characters? If someone says yes, please torture them for me ok?
And with me being on PST - in the west coast of NA and all - that time zone warning is most certainly something for me to remember.
Oh and I've seen the dark side. But...uh...they were speaking French so it ended up being a LOT less fun than I thought it would be (ah and on a nice little segue, can you imagine Darth Vader being evil in French? Funniest. Dark Side. Ever.
lol and yeah, torture seems like a plan at this point. Oh well, must be zen and be civil with the lazy who choose not to inform themselves. Personally, I'd rather glean every piece of info so that I can know everything rather than ask unless it is absolutely necessary. But then, I AM a guy so I might as well dive head-first into that stereotype
Zero: WAs there such a thing as your innocence to loose?
West coast of NA... couldn't just say West Coast USA or West Coast CAN now could you?
Next time you go to the dark side, don't mind them speaking french.... just make some hand sign and they should whip more forcefully!
Did told you... dive in and i,ll have to get myself a nice little Dominatrix kit... Whip and knife included....
What are you looking forward to in v2?
